WOW! This is one heavy duty and superbly functional wine rack! The octagonal pieces drilled for the pegs are smooth and heavy, and machined perfectly. The pegs all fit snugly and assembly required a good sized plastic "dead blow" hammer to seat them evenly. Once you get into the rhythm, assembly becomes a simple repetition of a few basic steps.
But, the effort is well worth it. Once assembled, the rack is heavy, solid, and sturdy and I did not see the need for any glue. The final shape you build it is limited only by your imagination, and the enclosed instructions show a "stepped" shape that would fit under a set of stairs, and various other options. The rack fits various sized and shaped bottles securely, and the depth seems just perfect to cradle the bottles securely. They slip into their slots with a silken finality that only genuine wood on glass can provide.
